Les Dames / Artiga Baixa: equipped channel

A separate Catalan massifPermit / restrictions apply

Via ferratas

Les Dames and Canal de l’Artiga Baixa are two names for one line on Montserrat’s southern side. The park treats it as an equipped channel requiring advance permission. Operators describe an ascent whose physical rock passages can demand more than experience on an easy ferrata. Do not choose it simply because the route looks short or photographs show metal staples. Discuss movement, strength and protection with a guide first. Older publications record different closures; Collbató’s late-2025 health restrictions were subsequently changed, making current confirmation from the park more useful than an undated claim that the route is open.

Before your trip

  • Apply to the park at least 5 working days ahead and await approval for your date.
  • Confirm present access; read the December 2025 restriction together with the February 2026 update.
  • Agree difficulty, protection and return; Artiga Baixa is not a second separate route.
