Format

Saint-Lary combines village life in the Aure valley with skiing high above it. Travelling from the inhabited valley to open snowy slopes becomes part of the day, while Pla d’Adet, Espiaube and Vallon du Portet offer different ways to continue. It can suit a group combining lessons with wider piste exploration. Accommodation matters: the village and higher bases provide different evenings and morning logistics. Choose deliberately, allowing time to travel uphill, meet the group and return after the final descent rather than rushing the connections.

Baqueira Beret

Baqueira Beret unfolds gradually, from wooded lower slopes to wide white spaces, with connections between Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver creating a sense of travelling through the mountains. Spend several days alternating familiar runs with a new sector. For a mixed-ability group, a practical base and meeting point matter more than covering the entire map. Evenings in Val d’Aran's villages offer a smaller, more intimate scale after open slopes. Visibility, wind and the operating links should shape the plan for each skiing day.

Formigal

Formigal offers the open space of the upper Tena valley, with skiing organised around several entrances and successive mountain bowls. Sextas, Sarrios, Anayet and Portalet let you start from different sides, making accommodation and ski-school meeting points important choices. It particularly rewards confident skiers who enjoy changing views throughout the day. Beginners can concentrate on one suitable learning area. The shared Formigal-Panticosa brand does not mean a continuous piste connection to Panticosa; moving between the two requires a separate transport plan.

Cerler

At Cerler, open upper slopes contrast with winding forest runs above the Benasque valley. Shape the day around different summits and sectors, returning to favourite descents as you understand the snow. The two main entrances, Cerler 1500 and Ampriu, suit different accommodation, lesson and terrain choices. It works well for a group combining learning with varied piste skiing. Keep some energy for longer descents: an impressive panorama at the top does not remove the fatigue of the final kilometres back towards the base.
