Paratge Natural d’Interès Nacional del Massís del Pedraforca

Catalunya · Berguedà, PrepirineuFoothills

Double-peaked Pedraforca has its own PNIN designation within Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park: the protected areas overlap. For a family introduction, choose Saldes and the walk to its castle. The classic mountain ascent includes steep, rocky ground and should not be presented as an easy children’s walk.

Before you visit

Camping & bivouacs

Cadí-Moixeró rules apply: arrange any overnight beside a hut with its manager. The Cadí-ridge exception does not authorise Pedraforca’s summit.

Fire & cooking

Fire outside authorised locations is prohibited. Check stove restrictions and do not improvise fireplaces beside trails or viewpoints.

Dogs

Keep dogs on a lead and away from wildlife and livestock.

Access & parking

Plan from Saldes. Choose your route’s official access and parking and check local restrictions; the village marker does not identify the ascent trailhead.

Activities & restrictions

For a family day, consider the Saldes castle itinerary. It does not describe the Pedraforca ascent; confirm cycling routes under Cadí-Moixeró regulations.
