How to choose

A skydive begins from an aircraft and includes freefall before the parachute opens. It is different from paragliding, which usually launches from a slope. Drop zones are often on the plains beside the mountains: check the actual meeting location rather than relying on “Pyrenees” in an offer.

Tandem skydive at Pamiers–Les Pujols

Pamiers–Les Pujols airfield sits in the northern Pyrenean foothills, on Ariège’s lowland side. CEPS Ariège offers an introduction to skydiving in tandem: ground preparation, the aircraft ascent, freefall and the canopy descent form different parts of one experience. The instructor directs the jump while the passenger follows the actions explained beforehand. A visit needs room for airfield operations and weather decisions. Tandem skydiving at Tarbes–Laloubère

The Centre École de Parachutisme de la Bigorre is based at Tarbes–Laloubère airfield, beside the northern Pyrenean foothills. Mountains provide the horizon while the experience starts at an aviation facility close to the city. A tandem combines an aircraft flight, freefall and a parachute descent with an instructor. Moving between these phases defines the experience, so discuss the complete visit beforehand. Nearby accommodation makes schedule changes easier to absorb. Both the jump and mountain visibility depend on weather; a particular summit should never be guaranteed as part of the view.
