What makes it special
The Anayet lakes save their main surprise for the moment the climb opens onto a broad plateau. Water, grassland and sharply drawn mountains create an unusually spacious scene. This is a strong choice for walkers who care more about a lake panorama than a summit. Our outing ends at the lakes, leaving time to find a suitable resting place and watch the reflections. Choose settled weather: shelter lower in the valley can hide how windy the plateau feels. Nearby summits require their own preparation even when they appear deceptively close.

Plan your day
Start at Corral de las Mulas and follow the GR 11 through Culibillas. The official description gives roughly two hours uphill; add the descent and rests. Include the approach track in your expectations. Pico Anayet and Vértice de Anayet are separate mountain objectives and are outside this suggested outing.
Elevation gain +660 m
Accumulated ascent for the return walk from Corral de las Mulas, including the road approach to Anayet car park. The lakes are the endpoint; excludes Pico Anayet and Vértice Anayet.
