Camping & bivouacs
Luchon’s tourist office describes lightweight overnight bivouacs between sunset and sunrise, subject to local exceptions. This does not authorise camping anywhere in the new park. Confirm the selected lake or pasture, landowner and restrictions with Pyrénées 31: +33 5 61 79 21 21.

Haute-Garonne has departmental fire rules for forests, heathland and the surrounding 200 m zone; the prefecture states that fires are prohibited in exposed areas. Check stove use and temporary restrictions. Hautes-Pyrénées has separate departmental rules; ask the park for the relevant authority: contact@monpnr.fr.

The park has no single entrance car park. In summer 2026, Lipy shuttles linked Luchon with Granges d’Astau, Hospice de France and other valleys; that published season ended on 30 August. Check the timetable for your actual travel dates and the designated parking for your chosen valley.

Cycling routes exist: the official PC 44 links Le Mourtis and Boutx through woodland and pasture. Choose published cycling routes and check their condition; one route does not authorise riding every path. Ask Pyrénées 31 about seasonal availability: +33 5 61 79 21 21.
