Paragliding in the Pyrenees

Tandem flights over valleys, Cerdanya and Montsec: choose a location and pilot-led programme.

How to choose

Paragliding reveals ridges, wooded slopes and the shape of a valley from the air. The pilot flies a tandem, but your participation at launch and landing matters too. Duration and launch slope depend on conditions; a scenic flight and an acrobatic programme are not interchangeable.

  • Clarify whether you want a scenic, longer or acrobatic flight before booking.
  • Confirm launch and landing requirements, footwear and clothing.
  • Check transport to the launch and the meeting point with the pilot.

Cerdagne paragliding: Targasonne

The Cerdagne plateau takes on another dimension during a tandem with Vol’Aime. Its main site is at Targasonne on Pic des Mauroux near Font-Romeu; other launches depend on the programme and conditions. The school offers introductory flights as well as more sporting combinations of a walking ascent and paragliding. For a first visit, define the kind of experience you want before choosing solely by a package name. Leave time for preparation and instructions on the ground. Mountain surroundings call for appropriate clothing even when your accommodation feels warm and sunny.

Paragliding above the Louron valley

In the Louron valley, mountain slopes open towards Lac de Génos–Loudenvielle and a broad landing area. Local tourism describes several launch sites between Val Louron and Peyragudes, making site selection part of the pilot’s work. Parapente Vol Louron offers tandems ranging from an introduction to flights using rising air. The passenger has an active role, following instructions during the launch run and landing. Explain the experience you want and leave room for a changed plan. Staying in the valley simplifies meeting arrangements and gives the rest of the day an unhurried rhythm.
